I holds a BA Psych (WITS University), BSc Psych Honours (UCT) and a Masters in Counselling Psychology (WITS University). I run my own practice at Akeso Clinic in Parktown, while also working as one of the psychologists who runs groups, sees individuals and administers assessments in the clinic.
I have also been a part of community based organisations that seek to alleviate mental and social ills for the past 4 years.
As such, I have experience in both clinical and community settings.
My current areas of interest include individual, couples and family therapy. I find particular interest in working with victims of gender-based violence (GBV). While I recognise and emphasise the importance of using long-term insight-based therapy, it is important to note that I also use other therapy modalities where necessary.
I particularly enjoy Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and working through anxiety disorders with patients. I also have experience with Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, which is the framework that Akeso Clinic uses when working with their specific patient population.
Overall, my aim is to help patients live a life worth living.
