I completed my Masters training at the University of Cape Town in 2015. I have worked at Tara Hospital and Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital. My experience has ranged from working with Adolescents to Patients with Eating Disorders, Personality Disorders and patients on the Schizophrenia spectrum. My work has ranged from acute psychiatric patients to outpatient care.
My goal as a clinical psychologist is to provide patients with a professional, holding and non-judgemental therapeutic space where we can explore their current difficulties as well as to identify patterns of relating, thinking and behaving that have contributed to a lack of satisfaction in their lives.
I work from a psychodynamic perspective to provide brief (supportive) and long-term psychotherapy. I often incorporate Cognitive Behaviour Therapy as well as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy approaches in my work with patients. This integrated approach aims to help patients attain a life worth living that enhances their understanding of self, while exploring the ways in which the past may affect the present.
