I am a highly motivated individual and I pride myself in respecting the rich diversity each individual has to offer. I have my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
I am passionate about child and adolescent mental health and have worked within a multi-disciplinary team on many related cases. I have previous experience in lecturing at a tertiary level at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and the South African College of Applied Psychology.
Due to this background, I am passionate about utilizing didactic techniques in psychotherapy with both inpatients and outpatients.I am trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (Basic). My therapeutic approach incorporates unconditional positive regard, dual engagement and utmost respect for the patient.
In my spare time I engage in freelance writing on various mental health topics in Psychology. This is my passion project as it increases awareness about mental health conditions whilst reducing the stigma that still exists by educating the general public about pertinent topics
