“THE TRANSFORMATIONAL JOURNEY is a voyage with a hundred different names: …the great initiation, the death and rebirth process, the supreme battle, the dark night of the soul, the hero’s journey. All of these names describe the process of surrendering to a time of great difficulty, allowing the pain to break us open, and then being reborn—stronger, wiser, and kinder. ” – Elizabeth Lesser
After graduating in 2018 from the University of the Western Cape (UWC), I served in mental health for two years at West End Specialised Hospital and Riverview Manor. During these two years I got to witness and assist clients go through their unique transformational journeys. What a gratifying feeling and excellent motivation to share my passion for mental health with each client I interact with.
One of my previous clients referred to me as a “Duracell bunny” in his farewell speech. Well, I have to admit that this is mostly true. I am always on a mission to equip clients with tools to dig for the treasure in the ashes in every phase of their journey of becoming.
I’m bilingual ( English and Afrikaans), but my home language is Afrikaans.
When I’m not with clients ,then I’m with family and friends, engaging in outdoor activities in nature, or attempting to dance in my own space. Most importantly, I’m anchored in God.
My next journey will start as I report for duty on the 17th of March 2021 at Akeso Stepping Stones. A journey that I am undoubtedly looking forward to. I am ready to take the next step with you…
