Caroline Kapp
Occupational Therapist
Akeso Parktown
I am an Occupational Therapist who completed my studies at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2017. I completed my community service year at a rehabilitation hospital where I gained experience in the physical, neurological and psychiatric fields of Occupational Therapy. This experience sparked a passion for mental health and neurological rehabilitation.
I have an interest in substance abuse, geriatric psychiatry, neurological and cognitive rehabilitation as well as home-based therapy and environmental adaptation. I am passionate about assisting individuals in being included in all aspects of their lives within their communities and environments as well as assisting individuals in overcoming and compensating for the specific limitations that they experience.
Currently at Akeso Parktown, I work with geriatrics, adults and adolescents with a wide range of diagnoses on an individual and group basis, to assist each individual in being able to engage in a variety of meaningful activities in their day to day lives. I value the contribution from all members of a multi-disciplinary team and work closely with psychologists and psychiatrists to ensure that all clients receive intervention of a high quality which is suited to their individual needs.
